Situated right in the heart of Belchford is the Belchford & Fulletby Village Hall. It is a light airy building that can seat 100 people or more. The hall has a spacious, fully equipped kitchen area, storage cupboards for village groups to use and a small enclosed garden area. The village hall is available for hire.
The first Belchford parish room was opened in 1885. It enabled villagers to hold meetings and social gatherings. This was demolished in 1970 as it fell into disrepair. For a while, the old school room sited in the old chapel on Chapel Lane was used for meetings, the doctor’s surgery and by the Women’s Institute.
This chapel was coming to the end of its life in 1977 and a new village hall committee was formed which secured a lease on the area of land where our current village hall stands. This group of volunteers and local businesses then moved the wooden village hall from nearby Branston and rebuilt it in Belchford.
The new, present day village hall was opened in 1978. More recently, through hard work of its committee and funding from grants and revenue from its lettings, the village hall has been significantly extended, re-roofed and clad with brick.
It now provides a base for many local groups and is an invaluable venue for activities ranging from parties and celebrations to conference events and meetings. The car park can be booked by prior agreement.
