May 2021 DRAFT Minutes Annual Parish Meeting

Minutes from Belchford and Fulletby Annual Parish Meeting

11.30am Saturday 22nd May 2021

Held at Belchford Church

Present at the meeting: John Smith, Chairman of the Parish Council and 12 residents.

The meeting started at 11.33 am with a minutes silence for Mrs Abbott, who has recently passed away.  She was an incredible lady.  It is proposed to plant a tree in her memory and also install a bench.  Further discussions followed and the Chairman thanked everyone for attending.  Mary’s bench is to be moved to the village hall and it is also proposed for residents to line the street when the funeral arrangements are known.  It is also suggested that today’s lane letting funds are to be used to buy a signature/statement tree in memorial to Mrs Abbott for planting at the Community Woodland.

JS left the meeting at 11.38 and handed over the chair to Mr P Thompson.

PT, it is nice to see people in person and PT will share the report JS has provided with those present.

Has Covid changed our community?  If you are aware of anything or anyone affected by Covid please get in touch.  The parish council has done quite a lot in the last 12 months, the community woodland is there to be used and enjoyed by everyone and there is so much happening there already.  More trees are to be planted in the autumn and there will be an opportunity to buy a tree and have it planted at the woodland with a plaque to commemorate a special person or occasion.

The neighbourhood development plan is being led by Paul Morris and Jill Newby.  A document is to be created which will influence the ELDC planners.  We are starting the process which will take several months to accomplish.  A questionnaire will be circulated to all households.

We are still waiting for the Oxcombe Road surface to be addressed, LCC are being regularly chased with regard to road erosion.

Thanks are given to all who have litter picked, built planters, maintained flowers or looked after neighbours – it is nice to be part of a community.

Village Green Report:  Nothing has happened with this project and there have been very few expenses for the year.  There is a container for storage and this has been painted.  Anglian Water will be installing a new fence.  Top soil has been donated and the fruit trees are staked.  The first village green newsletter is to be delivered along with the parish council newsletter and the neighbourhood plan questionnaire.  A Facebook page is also to be set up as an interactive way of communicating.  A large log has been donated along with some benches.

Village Hall Report: Not much is happening, the mother and toddler group is back and table tennis is starting on 4yth June.  Hopefully the hall will be busier after 21st June.  The village hall is financially OK due to receiving grants from ELDC.  There is a meeting on 26th May and it would be nice to see more people attend.
